HURRICANE MATTHEW … another update! It has taken months for the island of Île-à-Vache to produce enough goats to sell to the public. The numbers are increasing and we can now start purchasing goats for the population that lost their goats in the hurricane. But, how does one decide who will get a goat and who will have to wait!?!? Two church committees were formed to do just that. The 2 committees have each purchased 10 goats and will begin the process of selecting persons to receive these initial goats. When these 20 goats have their first offspring, the mother goats will be brought back to the church committees to be distributed to 20 more families. Additional goats will be added to the program. This process will be repeated until everyone has a goat.
